Hello and thank you for visiting my website. I’m Michelle Weltmer, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have over 16 years of experience working with individuals, families, couples, and children in various therapeutic settings including foster care/adoption, mental health, and behavioral and community services. I’m trained in a variety of approaches and help individuals explore and work through problematic behavioral patterns and crisis.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, Ca. At an early age, I realized I enjoyed helping others and that has guided my choices and path in life to become a therapist. I attended CSU of Sacramento for my undergraduate degree and National University for my graduate degree. My husband and I have been married for 17 yrs and have three active daughters. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running, traveling, listening to music, and reading.
When choosing a therapist, I feel it’s particularly important to feel a connection. Clients often tell me that my easy-going, humorous, non judgmental and collaborative style makes them feel comforted and heard.
I believe that everyone desires to live their “best life”, but are held back due to negative behavioral patterns and incongruent perceptions of self and life. I work collaboratively with each individual to create specific treatment plans and goals, to help individuals develop increased awareness, insight, connection, and coping skills, so they may experience greater joy within themselves and relationships.
