About Michelle Weltmer

LMFT – Marriage & Family Therapist

I was born and raised in Sacramento, Ca. At an early age, I realized I enjoyed helping others and that has guided my choices and path in life to become a therapist. I attended CSU of Sacramento for my undergraduate degree and National University for my graduate degree. My husband and I have been married for 17 yrs and have three active daughters. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running, traveling, listening to music, and reading.

My Approach

Everyone wants to live their “best life”, but when faced with adversity or setbacks it can often feel as though achieving that goal is impossible. Feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, anger, low self-esteem, and lack of purpose can negatively affect our thoughts and actions and shape inconsistent perceptions of ourselves and life. Together we will collaborate to create specific treatment plans and goals, to help you develop increased awareness, insight, connection, and coping skills, so you may experience greater joy within yourself and relationships.

“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.”
― Brené Brown

I use a variety of approaches to meet my client’s unique needs. Utilizing a foundation of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Together we tailor a treatment plan and approach that includes tools and coping skills to help support and sustain the growth you experience in therapy.
